Trace the Role of Renewable Energy in Protecting Our Environment

Renewable energy is regarded as clean source of energy and the optimal use of this energy reduces environmental impacts and does not emit any harmful particles. It is the best source of energy based on today’s social and economic needs. The Sun is the greatest source of energy. The primary sources of energy are light and heat. The rays of Sun are absorbed and transformed by the environment in multiple ways. Some of these transformation results in renewable energy sources such as biomass and wind energy. Both these sources are regarded as renewable energy because they can be used limitlessly.

Renewable energy provides an excellent opportunity to mitigate the effects of greenhouse gases and reducing global warming through substituting conventional sources of energy. Unlike conventional sources of energy, renewable energy does not release any harmful gases that adversely affect our environment. People basically generate grid power from fossil fuels. But now with the growing awareness of people, they have started concentrating on solar power system and wind turbines. The wind turbines are placed on high tower so that it can capture as much wind as possible. Basically, the turbine captures wind with the help of blades and a low pressure is created below the blades that move the turbine which helps in generating electricity.

Renewable energy can be produced locally and therefore it is not vulnerable. Many of the safety concerns arise when you are using fossil fuels such as explosion at oil refineries and collapsing of coal mining etc which do not exist in case of renewable energy. The burning of coal produce electricity and in that process it often discharges arsenic, carbon di oxide, nitrogen oxide and mercury into the air. Gasoline and other petroleum products also cause similar pollution. This type of pollution causes respiratory illness as well as acid rains that partially damage the balance of our environment and create global warming. Therefore, one should start using renewable source of energy in their day to day work for ensuring the safety of our environment.
